Two Day Family Intensives

When a loved one is having a problem with alcohol and drugs, everyone is affected.
Family members and others want to help their loved one, but may not be sure of the best way. Often, they unknowingly take on roles and ways of relating to the addict/alcoholic that not only make their own lives chaotic, but also reinforce continued chemical use – the very thing that they are trying to eradicate.

Not understanding addiction as a disease process is one of the primary contributing factors to family members’ unwittingly supporting the illness, which can be a major barrier to recovery. Family support, while not enabling further alcohol or drug use, is a crucial component of substance abuse treatment and recovery.

Fox Valley Recovery offers your family, an important piece to the to the recovery process that stems around the entire family. We offer a two-day family workshop available to your family while your loved one is actively participating in our Intensive Outpatient program.

This two-day workshop is a comprehensive program that provides:

  • Extensive Education on The Disease of Addiction
  • Experiences in Hope
  • Family Tools Four Recovery
  • Family Counseling
  • Continued Care Planning for Family Members and Loved Ones Whose Lives Have Been Impacted
  • Family Workbook
  • Experiential Family Member Activities

What to Expect

When you embrace the Family Workshop you begin a process of healing that can be challenging as well as rewarding. Recovery begins with hard work and an open mind to understand more about alcohol and drug addiction and how the entire family is effected and survives in very unhealthy codependent ways.

Since your loved one entered treatment, he/she has been working hard to learn about addiction and how it has affected his or her life. You should expect to see some changes in behaviors, attitudes and feelings. You will also see close bonds that have developed between the patients and a desire to help each other work on recovery issues. This is part of what is unique at Fox Valley Recovery.
